Coca-Cola Has New Environmental Sustainability Initiative

Soda maker taking responsibility for single serve plastic bottles

Whether Coke understands the damage that their plastic bottles do to the environment or they were simply taking a page out of McDonald's playbook (who announced it's move to 100% recyclable packaging by 2025), Coke has big plans to amass and recycle the same number of bottles that it produces by 2030. The second part of the initiative for Coca-Cola will be to assemble their plastic bottles using 50% recycled materials.

FACT: Coca-Cola distributes more than 110 billion single-use plastic bottles yearly.

The soda giant has such a huge presence that it's being sold throughout 200 countries around the world which makes setting the groundwork to be successful with their sustainability goal no small feat. Good job Coca-Cola! 👏
